The Core of our Heart

Recipe of a Hardened Heart By Jennifer Shipp

Start with:
  2 Parts of Unforgiveness
 A cup of Anger
A splash of  Bitterness
Then begin to stir in Resentment  and Envy
Oh and don't forget to add Jealousy that's boiling on the stove!
Next blend in Self-hatred and Condemnation
Then top it all off with a heaping scoop of Self-Pity
Let it all bake for hours, days and even months and you're sure to have a hard heart.

Left too long, Gods Words can’t penetrate into the heart and release you from this destructive recipe, because you’ve surrendered yourself to its evil concoction and bowed your knees to it.
But, You can let go and let God create in you a "Soft Heart".
A Divine recipe from Heaven. ❤️

Some practical tools 🧰 to help us to rewrite that hard heart recipe~

1. Peter says to Jesus, “how many times Lord should I forgive my brother, sister, friend, husband, wife, neighbor etc..... Jesus responds "No not seven times, but seventy times seven!”
(Matt 18:21-22)
Jesus means business when it comes to forgiveness.
2. Jesus: “be angry but do not sin” (Ephesians 4:26). Deal with the cause of your anger issues before the sun goes down. Get with God and let the Holy Spirit reveal what is trying to hide in that hard heart.
3. Paul's writes in Ephesians 4:32 “let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.“ Solomon said in Proverbs 14:30 "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones."
4. We read in 1 Corinthians 3:3  “You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?” Come up higher!
In Romans, 12:3, Paul reminds us - “Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment.."
 5. King Ahab pouted in 1 Kings when he couldn’t get what he wanted and went home “sullen” feeling sorry for himself and didn’t feel good about himself until his wife Jezebel put out orders to kill God's Prophet, Elijah who told him no! That’s where self pity can lead you!
6. And lastly why would you hate yourself when God says you were created in His image in Genesis? Have you ever thought that when your so set on hating yourself, that you are actually hating on what God made in His perfect image? You are basically saying  “you didn’t make me good enough Lord!”
We are commanded to Love the Lord with all our heart and to love our neighbor LIKE we love ourselves. These three goes hand in hand. When you study them deeper you will begin to understand that; if you love God with all your heart then you will start loving those around you like how He loves you --even in your messes.  And you will begin to start loving yourself because you know how much your loved by Him who loves you unconditionally. Hot mess and all!!

So now we can see that the Divine Recipe from Heaven for a "Soft Heart"  is
A FULL CUP OF PURE LOVE .......nothing more or nothing less!
Perfectly baked every time :)
